From across the pond...

Well it seems its been awhile since I actually wrote anything on here. It's been busy! We spent three days in London with Eli an amazing friend who let us crash on an air mattress at his place and he made us a home cooked meal! Something we were missing very much! We had two of the very best tour guides our first day, thanks to Maddy and Eli again! We did a lot of walking and we visited all the main tourist type places in London. It's hard to explain how amazing the buildings are, the details in everything are unbelievable and knowing it was all done by hand is pretty cool. The next day, after Maddy's amazing ninja skills woke us up, we started out with the plan to go see a few museums. We made it to one, the British Museum of National History which was really cool. Lots of different animal skeletons and creepy crawly bugs. After that we decided to skip the museums and we took a stroll through Hyde Park which was really pretty. It was kind of funny to see people swimming in the water there, I will never again say its dirty at our beach! I didn't meet the queen (sorry dad) but I would say it was a successful trip! We took the train in and we travelled around on the tube many times. Once we came back to Reading it was amazing how much it felt like home, especially compared to London, it's so busy there!! We finally signed all the paper and we now have a home! So we have spent the last couple of days getting everything sorted out and getting dishes and towels and all the other fun things you need everyday.
Jeff went to school for the first time yesterday just to get the lay of the land. He'll be teaching 6 classes total a year 7,8,9, 2 year 10's, and a year 11 all English. He has his first classes today, just a short day for a half hour with the year 7's the new ones! Tomorrow he has his first full day of teaching with all his students! We shall keep you posted on how that goes!
We are starting to get settled and its starting to feel a little more comfortable. I've even rode the bus all by myself and I had to switch buses to get where I was going! (This is a very proud moment for me since I still get lost in Sarnia!)
Anyway I think that is all for now, Jeff will keep you posted on his teaching

We are missing everyone from home!

Love Kate
